What is Tango Goddess?

 Tango Goddess is the first women's circle designed for women in the Tango community, aiming to create a safe and non-judgemental place of sisterhood; to move, connect, relax, be heard, held and witnessed.
  • The circle welcomes female tango dancers of ALL levels.
  • Promotes self-esteem, body and mind awareness, better connection with self and others.
  • The sessions are structured and combined somatic practices and feminine energy embodiment exercises.
  • Expect a supportive, respectful friendly environment, led by Paula Duarte  an experienced TANGO professional.

Why Tango Goddess?

Tango awakened something powerful in me, both personally and professionally. But too often, I found myself in spaces full of pressure, performative rivalry, competitive expectations, often lacking support in the community. It dawned on me that the absence of sisterhood in the tango community is indeed a persistent issue, often overlooked.  As one of the longest-standing female tango teachers in the London tango scene, I’ve learned to navigate its complexities through many trials and tribulations in my own journey, leading me create the support I craved.

Tailored to your group needs!

Each circle can be shaped around your group’s unique  needs and requirements.  The circle offers space to explore shared intentions in a nurturing, embodied, and non-judgemental environment. Themes, duration, and structure can be adjusted, allowing space for deeper connection, mutual support, and co-regulation through movement, voice, and presence. Techical tango themes can also be explored through a structure class within the circle programme.

PRACTICALITIES:

  • The circle allow a maximum of 6 attendees and payments are required in advance.
  • ​ Studio in Archway, North London UK, N19 (5 minute walk from Archway Underground station).
  • What to wear: Comfortable leggings or trousers are recommended (avoid skirts and dresses, unless wearing leggings underneath)​
